It’s photos like these that make realize that taking my camera to that show last night may have been a mistake. Also the shattered pieces of camera.
But mostly it was not a mistake. I got a lot of photos of the final show of my cousin’s favourite band before the camera was moshed from my hands. And the people were so nice about it! When I sank to the floor looking for it— or mostly the card— people lifted me up to make sure I didn’t get trampled. And when I kept looking anyway, some stopped moshing to help me look and commiserate when I found various misshapen pieces. Mosh pit people are just about the nicest. I wonder if it’s because we’re all covered in the same mix of sweat and so it’s harder for them to realize that I’m not one of them. Not going to test this theory out (unless this social awkwardness thing escalates to the point where it’s a no-loss proposition, then for sure I’ll test it. And I’ll probably blog about the results).
