Poor Kafka.
I’ve figured it out: graphic novel biographies are so great because they have facial expressions.
I realize there aren’t a lot of historical records of what various people’s faces were doing at particular moments, but I’m going to trust a biographer to have done enough research to speculate.
I think that’s also why I love Kate Beaton so darn much.
(This is from Robert Crumb and David Zane Mairowitz’s Kafka. There are dozens of good faces in that book.)
